Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
A few things people often want to know before reaching out. If your question isn't here, just ask — I'm happy to talk it through.
Do you take insurance?
I'm a private-pay (out-of-network) therapist, so I don't bill insurance directly. That said, many PPO plans reimburse a good portion of out-of-network sessions. You can check your specific benefits through Thrizer in about a minute — and if you have coverage, Thrizer can file the claims for you so you never deal with a superbill. I'm also glad to provide superbills if you'd rather submit them yourself.
How much is a session?
Sessions are $225 for 50 minutes.
Do you offer telehealth, or only in person?
Both. I see clients in person in Los Angeles and via telehealth anywhere in California.
How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most people begin weekly, on a schedule that works for you, and we adjust as the work evolves.
What kind of therapy do you do?
I combine the practical skills of DBT with the deeper questions of existential and depth therapy — real tools for getting through hard moments and shifting patterns, alongside the larger question of what you actually want your life to be about.
Who do you usually work with?
Mostly individual adults, and often men who are new to therapy — working through anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, ADHD, or trauma, or a sense that something's off and they want life to feel more deliberate.
What happens on the first call?
We start with a consultation call: a chance to talk about what's going on, what you're hoping for, and whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure to commit — it's as much for you to feel out working with me as the other way around.
What's your cancellation policy?
I ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled within 48 hours are charged the full fee, except in genuine emergencies.
What are your credentials?
I hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University–Los Angeles, and I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California (#137544).
