Work With Me
Working with me is collaborative, reflective, and grounded.
We slow things down enough to understand what’s actually happening—emotionally, relationally, and internally—while also creating structure for meaningful change over time.
This work isn’t rushed, and it isn’t one-size-fits-all. We pay careful attention to your experience while also using structure, practice, and concrete tools when they’re helpful.
How therapy with me actually works
I integrate existential, depth-oriented therapy with practical, DBT-informed tools. That means our work can be both reflective and concrete: making sense of deeper patterns, questions, and emotions while also building skills to respond differently in daily life.
Part of our work is understanding the deeper questions underneath your distress—who you are, what matters to you, and how you want to live. Part of it is learning practical ways to regulate emotion, tolerate discomfort, and act more effectively in your life and relationships.
Many people come to therapy with a sense that something isn’t working, but without a clear understanding of why. Others arrive with a great deal of insight, yet find that insight alone hasn’t led to meaningful change. We slow things down and pay attention to your experience as it unfolds—emotionally, relationally, and physically—so that patterns become clearer and new ways of responding can emerge.
That often means:
Slowing down reactions that usually happen automatically
Learning to stay with discomfort instead of immediately trying to fix or avoid it
Noticing how emotions show up physically and in relationship
Clarifying what matters to you, not just what relieves distress in the moment
Building practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and more intentional action
Pairing awareness with practice, without pressure or urgency
Some sessions may be more exploratory and reflective; others may be more structured, focused on skills, patterns, and practicing new ways of responding.
We may work directly with distress and practical coping when needed, but the work also goes deeper—toward clarity, agency, and a life that feels more aligned with what matters to you.
Who I tend to work well with
I work best with thoughtful, reflective adults who are willing to engage honestly with themselves.
Many of the people I work with are:
Functioning well on the outside but feel stuck, disconnected, or restless internally
Curious about meaning, identity, and the patterns shaping their lives
Looking for more than coping strategies or surface-level change
Open to slowing down and doing emotional work, even when it’s uncomfortable
Interested in building a life that feels intentional, not just manageable
If you’re willing to participate actively and take responsibility for your growth, this work tends to be a good fit.
When this might not be the right fit
This approach may not be ideal if you’re looking for:
Quick fixes or immediate symptom elimination
Advice-only therapy without reflection or emotional engagement
A therapy process focused only on worksheets, skills, or homework, without space for deeper understanding
Therapy that avoids difficult feelings or deeper questions
Being clear about this helps protect both of us and supports more meaningful work.
